I’m Barbara and I’m 57 years old. 6 months ago, I was diagnosed pre-diabetic and I had high cholesterol. The doctors wanted to prescribe me medication – but I refused. I started to search for natural remedies to improve my health. A friend of mine gave me The Taste of Well-Being by Boguslawa Jablonski – it has changed my life. The recipes and diet in this book which are vegan-based helped me to greatly reduce my cholesterol and sugar levels, to a point where after just a month of doing the diet, I could see great improvements in my health. My journey to good health culminated when I went for surgery. The nurse asked me: “What kind of medicine do I take?”. I said: “None”. She was shocked. And then after the surgery, I had incredibly good results. Thanks to this diet, thanks to this incredible book, I was healthy again. This diet is truly a miracle diet for anyone ill who is looking to heal and live longer, naturally. Thank you Boguslawa Jablonski for your life-changing book.

I love food, I love cooking and, most of all, I love sharing a good meal with friends.

The Taste of Well-Being has been an eye opener and has given me confidence, especially when entertaining friends who are vegan or who, like me, wish to eat healthier food.

The challenge all of us are facing is to serve balanced and tasty food. Bogusia has certainly risen to the challenge in her book. All recipes are excellent. My favorites are Basil and Tomato Soup and Pasta with green peas and mint sauce.

Bon appétit!

I have been Boguslawa Jablonski’s friend for several years.  My name is Czeslaw Proszek, and I am a teacher of the French language.  I met Boguslawa in Montreal, and she asked me to teach her French.  That was the beginning of our acquaintance.

Apart from working on French, we often talked about veganism.  Having heard about its positive influence on health, I took a risk of trying it, and over time I became its disciple and an ardent proponent.  I will not exaggerate when I say that vegan food has saved my life.  I will also add that I never thought much about those miracle diets that hears about all the time, but as the Bible says, you will know them by their fruits.  And now, let me get to the point.

I had four problems with my health.  Constipation was the worst of them.  I apologize for a description, which is perhaps too graphic and detailed.  For many years, going to the toilet was a traumatic experience.  I felt no urgency or pressure, yet knew I had to go to the bathroom.  The pain was unbearable; I was straining the intestines; and finally – after much suffering – there was some evacuation, with the toilet colored by the blood.  I visited doctors many times but to no avail.  And then an incredible thin happened!!  After two weeks of eating vegan, you can say that a miracle happened:  I started going to the bathroom normally; the hellish pain went away; urgency came at regular intervals, and there is no sign of blood.  It has been like this for 6 years.

My second problem was high cholesterol level (the results are available by request).  According to statistics, every fourth person with such cholesterol level dies prematurely.  After going vegan, I stopped using cholesterol pills and after six months I did lab tests, and – to my great surprise – it turned out that I had normal cholesterol.   The doctor who prescribed the pills was also surprised; he believed that my cholesterol problem was genetic and that I would have to take the pills till the end of my life.  And it needs to be stressed that recent studies have shown that those pills have devastating side effects.

Overweight was my third problem.  It is gone without a trace.  My height is 180 cm (5’ 11”) and I weigh 165 pounds.  I eat a lot and gain no weight.  I can wear comfortably my wedding suit from 47 years ago!

The last of my problems was the eyesight.  For 10 years before becoming a vegan, I needed reading glasses.  Now I am able to read very small print without glasses, even with artificial dimmed light.

In closing, I want to say that I am an avid user of Boguslawa’s recipes.  Having experienced such marvelous results, I talked her into publishing a book with her recipes.  This first met with strong resistance; she did not want to undertake it.  However, after a long time and much persuasion, I managed to convince her to do it because it could help many people.  I have no financial interest in the book.  I am simply very glad the book has been published.

It is important to note that Boguslawa’s culinary art is based on the system of Dr. Esselstyn, who is a renowned American physician, whom President Bill Clinton mentions as one of the influences to switch to vegan diet after his heart attack and by-pass, and an Olympic gold medal winner in kayaking.

I thank Boguslawa for writing the book, hoping it will help many people with their health problems.
